This year, in addition to our traditional sumptuous brunch menu, the Museum is pleased to add a special first course offering featuring a sampling of scallop recipes from Scallops: A New England Coastal Cookbook by Karin and Elaine Tammi. This mother-daughter author team will be at the brunch to talk about their cookbook, which artfully weaves together a collection of New England's very best scallop recipes with interviews from Nantucket bay scallop fishermen, marine scientists, world-renowned chefs, shuckers, and sea scallopers. The hardcover cookbooks will be offered for sale for $40. Please reserve at 508-997-1401. Individual tickets are $50, or purchase a sponsorship ticket at $100 per person and receive a signed copy of Scallops: A New England Coastal Cookbook. Proceeds from the brunch underwrite the cost of student educational programming at the Museum, offered to more than 2,000 students annually.

The classes were studying "Sourcing Products and Purchasing Costs." Following the presentation and question and answer period; students enjoyed seeing the live scallop aquarium presentation

Sweet New England sea scallops are the crown jewel on seafood menus around the country, yet it is a fishery that went from bust to boom. Scalloper Tye Vecchione will discuss how the fishery got where it is today and talk about the Chatham small boat fleet that makes day trips just offshore to bring fresh scallops to market daily. He will be joined by mother/daughter cookbook author team Elaine Tammi and Karin A. Tammi, whose Scallops: A New England Coastal Cookbook features delectable recipes that are sure to be a hit with your family and guests. Come and taste some recipes.
